Wings of music
Wings, bring us to the sky while telling us, flying is precious and dangerous. This is an interactive device designed for people with upper limbs arthritis to help them retrieve music experience by combining music experience with resistance exercise. It is designed for them, but not only for them. People with arthritis will once again retrieve the ability to create and interact with the music. People without arthritis can also fall in this immersive experience while feeling the limitation of people with arthritis without realising it. When the light and sound launch, we will all be flying in our emotion with this device disregard of our physical body. When the light and sound quench, we will all be back to ourselves with a tired body, but the trace on the wings reminds us of the trace we once flew.
In this wearable, I want to focus on self-expression in this concept. The form took reference from wings, transferring exercise in the output to a flying experience. The idea behind this is to find something people cannot do regardless of arthritis. I want people to feel the extension of their possibilities when interacting with this output. The big device covers the users with the music and lights, combing tactile, visual and auditory sense in a more immersive experience. The main body of the device is made of Tyvek, there are stretching bands on both edges of the wings. This is prototype is realised with Arduino, it's pretty rough, but present effectively!
