Individual memory museum design based on emotional memory design
With the development of the information age, people are often in the environment of information explosion, and their ability to perceive their emotions is getting weaker and weaker. The convenience of consumption also makes people accumulate more and more debris. In the era of virtualization, the relevance and dependence between daily life items and people gradually decrease. People need to regain their emotional perceptions in a fast-paced life. Under such demand, nostalgic waves, ancient markets, and stalls still exist. This article takes emotional memory as the theoretical basis, extracts design ideas, finds the emotional connection between private objects and people, and converts to the application of space design, with the intention of awakening people’s deep consciousness of self emotion. Based on the theory of memory psychology, emotional experience design, and narrative space, this article looks for cases through three aspects: the sensory layer, the behavior layer, and the cognitive layer explores the conversion of the emotional connection between objects and people to space and draws the corresponding Conversion mode. Combine with this design. In this design, the author’s personal belongings, as well as those of friends and family, will be used to find the stories of people and objects and converted them into space experience.
The design is named “Memory Museum”. The design concept is that as long as the participants bring five related items with their memories and put them in our memory storage station, they can get their memory interactive museum. This design takes the author’s items as an example and selects the five works that have the deepest contact with the author during the lockdown period to present the formation process of Windy’s memory museum during the epidemic. After each item is placed in the memory storage station, it will be classified, and the design elements will be extracted according to “sensory memory”, “behavior memory”, and “scene story memory”. Emotional memories are awakened through sensory information, starting with multiple levels of sensory information experience such as sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, etc., to restore the initial feelings of participants, and evoke experience memories and related emotions in the most natural way And record it and convert it into poetry. Then, a small three-dimensional space is formed according to the dynamic lines. In this small space, situations are designed. These created situations enable participants to combine with certain situations that they have experienced in the past, generate connections, arouse certain memories, and Let participants re-experience the emotions and feelings they had at that moment in the past.
With the advent of the era of globalization, the use of objects by humans has largely caused national boundaries to gradually disappear. The regionality and differences of daily life objects are slowly shrinking, and life objects are changing with production methods and traffic conditions. And more and more lost the characteristics of regionalization. On the other hand, the advent of the immaterial society has brought about a huge change in the concept of human beings. The updating of objects is faster and more frequent than in any previous era, and people’s dependence and emotion on objects have gradually become indifferent. The memory museum connected with daily objects and space design can awaken people’s awareness and exploration of themselves, and deepen the importance and dependence on daily objects. This study shows that the storage of memory is not only limited to text, pictures, but also storage of space. Interdisciplinary integration and analysis of related theories such as memory psychology, cognitive psychology, design psychology, and emotional experience design, further define the concept of emotional memory, and extract and classify the corresponding experience elements from the constituent content of emotional memory After sorting, and then on the basis of the analysis of the emotional experience level, the spatial design method and related design value based on emotional memory are proposed hierarchically and systematically. The small spaces of different objects can have different combinations of connections. This also verifies that in a social society, individuals and individuals There is a connection. All small spaces will be assembled into a large space, similar to a collection station and collection hall. When the audience walks into this large space, they can feel different emotions, and they will also have the same emotional resonance. For example, walking into the reading space will also recall your reading time. Through the recollection of item stories, it can be transformed into a deeper understanding and reflection of oneself. Observers can find a lot of joy in design from their own lives and items.
