In a situation like the current one with Covid-19, many people might experience more disturbing dreams as an increase in background stress. Furthermore, this epidemic is changing our lives.
An increasing number of psychologists and neuroscientists are finding evidence that dreams are not just the brain’s way of recycling and cleaning up the images of the day. Still, they are essential features of our psyches, responsible for things like memory retention, emotional regulation and deep sleep. Although occasional nightmares are normal situation, repeated nightmares might affect quality and mood during the day. Therefore, dreams are significant in our daily life, which affects the emotion in our life.
Results of the investigation are intended to study the effects of dreams on people’s lives, and finding a relaxing and useful approach to release nightmares in participants’ daily life.
Some psychological treatments can alleviate nightmares. However, after my interviews and research, I found that very few people go to psychological clinics for nightmares. Therefore, I hope that more people will pay attention to this problem in a relaxed and pleasant way, and their nightmares can be alleviated. It’s not professional therapy, but it’s a psychological approach. In order to let more people get rid of the nightmare, design a card game. Through entertainment, participate in the interaction before going to bed, thereby reducing the possibility of nightmares. The people bring their attention before they go to sleep, thinking about what they want to happen in their dream and dream process takes over they do not have to worry about it anymore.
This game is like a decryption story. Participants can create a dream story by themselves and use game cards to fantasise their stories before going to bed. Thinking what they want to happen in their dream and believe they will have a sweet dream just like they imagine in the card game. The game is random in the selection of CARDS, and different choices will have different storylines. The game will provide the main story frame. Participants choose their favourite characters to bring into it, create their own storyline, choose different endings, and create their own virtual dream story before sleep.
